Titleist 910 D3 Driver

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Designed with the better player in mind, the new Titleist 910 series offers total performance with improvements in flight, feel, looks, fit, and sound when compared to the previous 909 series.  The 910 is the first fully adjustable driver offered by Titleist and their reservations on releasing a driver of this sort before they were ready to commit to the design is definitely worth the wait.  The 910 D3 is the deeper faced model and produces lower spin rates and a boring trajectory that is most commonly preferred by advanced players.  The pear shaped, 445 c.c. head sits square at address however the face angle can be easily changed thanks to the innovative, SureFit Tour, dual angle hosel.  This adjustable hosel design provides precise independent loft and lie adjustments to fine tune ball flight for more control and greater accuracy and the interchangeable shaft connection provides enhanced fitting options.  Besides the custom options, the new Fast Face Insert and the re-designed crown is what really sets the 910 D3 apart from the previous model.  Ball speeds have increased by 15% when compared to the 909 D3 and the lighter crown allowed for more weight to be positioned along the perimeter of the club head for a higher MOI (moment of inertia) resulting in greater distance and more forgiveness.  The 910 D3 is offered in lofts ranging from 8.5* to 10.5* and for the first time, Titleist has offered four distinct shaft options including the Aldila RIP, the Project X graphite, the Mitsubishi ‘ahina, and the Mitsubishi kai’li.

Adams Speedline F11 TI Fairway Wood

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

The launch date of the new Adams Speedline F11 line is coming and I was finally able to catch a glimpse of the entire lineup.  The new F11 TI fairway wood is geared for the average player looking to improve their game from the fairway as well as the tee thanks to an oversized titanium head design.  The slightly larger head shape and patented dual velocity slots on both the crown and sole of the club deliver a 36% increase in COR as well as a higher MOI.   This technology increases ball speed by 5.2 mph resulting in twelve yards of increased carry yardage.  At first, I was nervous about the velocity slot on the crown, however after a few practice swings, it looked and felt quite natural.  In fact, I am tempted to order the F11 Ti because I feel it is a great alternative to a driver on short or tight par fours and I have hunch that the velocity slot will help with my alignment. The Speedline F11 Ti is offered in lofts ranging from 13* to 18* and will be equipped with two premium graphite shafts, the Aldila Voodoo and the Matrix X-Con 7.1.

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

As far as full sets are concerned, Adams are by far the best selling package sets we have in the warehouse.  We usually have a hard time keeping them in stock, however we just received their new A7OS Men’s Full Sets and as usual, they are a tremendous value.  Perhaps the greatest feature of the new package set would be the inclusion of the premium Speedline Fast 10 driver and fairway woods.  Pair those with the forgiving A7 OS hybrids and irons, and you have the highest performing package set available today.  A mallet putter and a nicely equipped cart bag with matching head covers rounds out the set for one stylish package.  If you are on the fence about what to get that special someone that could use a complete golf bag overhaul, look no further than the new Adams A7OS Men’s Full Package Set.

Bushnell Neo Plus GPS

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

Looking for a simple GPS that will give you accurate yardage to the center, front, and back of the green as well as important hazards?  If so, I would definitely check out the new Bushnell NEO Plus GPS unit.  The NEO plus is the smallest and most compact GPS unit on the market and it provides quick yardages to your intended target.  Unlike many GPS units in it’s class, the NEO plus comes preloaded with over 16,000 North American courses.  No membership fees are necessary and the unit is ready to use straight out of the box.  Due to it’s ease of use, size, and affordability, I think the Bushnell NEO Plus GPS unit would make a great gift for the golfer that has it all this holiday season.

Tour Edge Exotics XCG 4 Fairway Wood

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

The new Tour Edge XCG 4 Fairway is the most advanced and sophisticated fairway wood Tour Edge has made to date.  Advancements in weighting technology increases the launch angle for a higher, boring trajectory that increases carry yardage and roll out.  However, these advancements are only the beginning with the XCG4.  The most improved feature of this fairway is the power that it produces thanks to the newly patented Boomerang face technology.  The Boomerang face is constructed of SP700 Beta titanium that includes multiple levels of variable face thickness.  These v-shaped, boomerang zones allow for maximum elongation of the titanium for enhanced feel and maximum rebound effect.  The XCG 4 is paired with a premium Fujikura Motore graphite shaft for unparalleled feel and performance.  Tour Edge has built a monster of a fairway wood here and although it is priced higher than other fairway woods on the market, it is well warranted.

Tour Edge Exotics XCG 4 Driver

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

It was only a matter of time until Tour Edge jumped on the lightweight driver bandwagon and their new Exotics XCG 4 Driveris just that.  The new XCG 4 is available in two different weight offerings, a superlight 276 gram driver as well as a slightly heavier 310 gram model.  Both clubs are engineered for those looking to increase their clubhead speed, however the 276 gram model will have the greatest amount of impact and it is by far the lightest driver on the market.  This is all made possible by the XCG 4’s advanced head design.  This sleek driver features a heavily radiused sole which allows for a more streamlined, fluid head-shape that minimizes drag throughout the swing.  The titanium face and sole paired with an amorphous carbon crown and sole inserts, free up 40 grams of weight that is positioned low in the head to improve the MOI by more than 15% over the previous XCG offering.  Based on these facts alone, it is safe to assume that the XCG 4 is one long and forgiving driver. But wait, there’s more!  A new patented Boomerang Face maximizes the rebound effect from various points on the the clubface making it more explosive across the entire hitting surface.  We of course cannot talk about lightweight drivers without mention of the shaft and both models of the XCG 4 are paired with two very distinct premium graphite shafts.  The 276 gram model comes stock with a super light-weight Graphite Design Tour AD 46″ shaft and the 310 gram version comes with a premium Fujikura Motore 55 gram shaft.  This impressive driver is available now and is also a 30 Day Test Drive product.

Adams Speedline F11 Fairway Wood

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

Not much has been leaked yet about the new Adams F11 line of woods.  However, we have been given the go ahead to start taking pre-orders because the new driver and fairway wood will be nothing short of amazing.  From what we do know, the F11 fairway woodis geared for the average player looking to improve their game from the fairway.  A slightly larger head shape and patented dual velocity slots deliver a 36% increase in COR as well as a higher MOI.  The dual velocity slots are located on both the sole and crown of the club.  This technology increases ball speed by 5.2 mph resulting in twelve yards of increased carry yardage.  At first, I was nervous about the velocity slot on the crown of the club, however I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the F11 in person last week and I was surprised of how natural it looked.  I cannot wait until spring to give this club a fair test.  If it performs half as good as it looks, it will surely make its way into my bag.  We will be sure to keep you updated with more info as soon as we receive more information from the Adams camp regarding this release.  Pre-order your F11 Speedline Fairway for a mid-January release date.
