Srixon is known for producing high quality golf products and although most of the attention is diverted towards their successful golf ball lineup, their clubs should receive some praise. Their clubs generally target the more accomplished player and the Z-TX line is their best effort to date. The Z-TX Driver and the Z-TX Iron Set have performed pretty well so far, however we have been most impressed with the ZTX Fairway Wood. The Z-TX fairway features a compact head shape and sets up square to slightly open in the address position. The Z-TX has what Srixon refers to as a “twin cam” sole that strategically positions weight to the perimeter of the club head for a greater MOI and it also helps to stabilize the head through the impact zone for straighter ball flight. The 455 maraging steel face features variable face technology resulting in greater balls speeds across the entire hitting surface. An aggressive leading edge allows for better turf interaction from both tight lies and thicker rough. The Srixon Z-TX Fairway Wood is offered in 15* and 18* lofts and is available in both stiff and regular flex.

The new Srixon Q-Star Golf Ball is Srixon’s answer to Bridgestone’s B330RX and RXS golf balls. The Q-Star is a high-performance golf ball designed for the average player looking for the ultimate in spin, distance, control, and feel. As with all Srixon golf balls, the Q-Star is very responsive and the acceleration off of the club face is outstanding, especially for players with swing speeds ranging from 80-95 mph. Performance aside, perhaps the best feature of this ball is the price! Players can now purchase a tour-level golf ball for less than $30 per dozen!
New for 2011, the Srixon Z Star XV Golf Ball is geared for the golfer with a swing speed greater than 95 mph. This distance oriented, high-performance golf ball will spin less off of the driver for a more penetrating ball flight. When compared to other balls in the Z Star lineup, the Z Star XV will feel slightly firmer however you will not have to sacrifice feel on approach shots or on the putting surface. The Z Star XV is offered in both pure white as well as tour yellow for that added visual appeal and performance. I personally cannot wait to this ball. I have played a variation of the Z Star golf ball for the past couple years and I find them to be perfect for my game. However a little more distance off of the tee wouldn’t hurt so I will definitely be giving the Z Star XV a go as soon as the snow melts!
