Budget Golf is definitely AMPED up over the release of Cobra’s new AMP Driver! The AMP Driver is Cobra’s first youthful departure from their tried and true product lines and while it is very flashy in appearance, the AMP driver is loaded with the latest technology that Cobra has to offer. Advanced material placement coupled with Cobra’s patented E9 Face Technology creates a sweet spot zone that is 30% larger which helps to produce explosive ball speeds across the entire hitting surface. Like the previous models, the AMP driver is fully adjustable to optimize ball flight for increased distance and improved accuracy and unlike other adjustable drivers on the market, it is very simple to use. An Aldila RIP 55 gram shaft is standard for the AMP Driver and it is offered in lofts ranging from 8.5* to 11.5*. The Cobra AMP Driver is available February 10th and the demand has already been very high so we suggest placing a pre-order!

Since the Puma takeover, Cobra has slowly begun making changes in their club lines that reflect the edgier, bolder influence that Puma has had on the company. This year, we will see this youthful exuberance really shine through with their latest club releases. They have artfully brought back classic clubs such as the Trusty Rusty wedges and the Long Tom driver and the new ZL Encore Driver is on pace to be the best driver they have ever made. The ZL Encore is a refined version of the original ZL driver however this newer version incorporates their newly patented E9 Face with dual roll technology which increases ball speeds for added distance and improves the MOI for greater forgiveness. Cobra has decided to not cut any corners with the ZL encore and the stock shaft offering is the Fujikura Motore F3. This is the real deal Motore F3 shaft that retails for over $200 and Cobra has made it clear that it is not a watered down version like many of their competitors offer in their off the rack clubs. The ZL Encore is offered in both white and back finishes and is available in lofts ranging from 8.5 to 11.5 degrees. The ZL Encore will ship mid-November, place your pre-book now!
Cobra is stepping up their game this year with multiple offerings that are modern takes on old classics. Rumor has it that Cobra is working on the 4th version of the famed, “Trusty Rusty” wedge but before that hits the market they are testing the waters with the Long Tom Driver. The Cobra Long Tom dates back to the early 90’s and it once was one of the longest drivers on the market. This year’s Long Tom should be no different! The Long Tom is a 4 foot long, ultra-light beast that is designed for raw power and distance. The club is equipped with Graffaloy’s Blackbird shaft as well as a very-light-weight grip made by Winn. The Long Tom features the same E9 face technology as the S3 series and the club is offered in lofts ranging from 8 to 10 degrees. The Long Tom is slated to hit the door this November, pre-book yours today!
The new Cobra Sapphire Ladies Blue Full set has been in development for years at Cobra under the watchful eye of expert club designer, Mike McDonnell. McDonnell set out to make a high performance complete set that would not only perform very well on the course but would also look good while doing it. From the first glance, it is evident that Cobra Sapphire is high on style and features premium materials and fine detailing that would appeal to a wide range of female golfers. The set consists of a lightweight, over-sized titanium driver, a stainless steel fairway wood, two stainless hybrids, four stainless irons, a putter, as well as a cart bag and hand bag. The Cobra Sapphire is a tremendous value and we have already had a lot of interest in them so far this season!
Simply put, the new Cobra S3 Iron Set is stunning! This mid-size iron set is designed for the average golfer that wants the ultimate in performance and style. From a performance standpoint, the S3 features Cobra’s newly patented E9 Face Technology which helps distribute the sweet spot across the entire hitting surface for added forgiveness and distance on mis-strikes. Puma knows how to make a great show and their impact is evident in this design of this iron. The stealthy black finish gives the S3 an aggressive look and it also frames the ball nicely at address. The S3 irons are offered in both steel and graphite and the irons will be available mid-February. Pre-order your set from Budgetgolf.com today!
If you are interested in purchasing the new Cobra S3 Max Driver, I would also check out the matching fairway woods. The new Cobra S3 Max Fairway Woods look great thanks in large part to Cobra’s new Puma ownership. Puma is taking the company in a more athletic direction and this effort is clearly evident with the new S3 series. The S3 Max fairway woods are designed for the high-handicap golfer looking to improve their performance from both the fairway, rough, as well as the tee. A large, slightly offset head frames the ball nicely at address and the cambered sole makes this club quite playable from a wide variety of lies. This draw-biased fairway is very forgiving and at this price point, we think they will be a big hit this summer. Pre-order your S3 Max Fairway Wood from Budgetgolf.com for a mid-February delivery date.
Designed by master club designer, Ozwaldo Gonzalez, the new Cobra S3 Max Driver will definitely turn some heads. This is the first club release since Puma took over late last year and this driver is proof that they are taking the company in a younger, more athletic direction. The S3 Max is designed for the high-handicap player that could use some extra help from the tee. The new crown design not only increased the MOI (moment of inertia) but the shape also helps with alignment. Newly patented E9 Face Technology expands the sweet spot by an astonishing 30%. Combine that with a slightly offset, over-sized head and you have a very forgiving and long driver off of the tee. This titanium driver is offered in 9.5, 10.5, and 11.5 degrees of loft and the shaft is offered in flexes ranging from senior to stiff. If you want forgiveness, style, and performance in one affordable package, check out the new Cobra S3 Max Driver. Order your new S3 Max from Budget Golf for a mid-February delivery date!!!
The Cobra S3 Driver is the latest high performance driver from Cobra and it is the first new club that has been released under the Puma ownership. I didn’t really know what to expect this year since Puma is not really a golf company with the exception of their clothing and shoe line. I was able to check out the S3 Driver last week and I was pleasantly surprised. The driver sets up well and the new sole design fits the athletic image that Cobra has been trying to capture the last few years. Cobra carried over most of the technology featured in the previous model however the face of the S3 features Cobra’s new E9 Face Technology which results in a 30% larger sweet zone. Like the S2, the S3 is fully adjustable for accuracy and improved flight conditions. The S3 Driver is available in lofts ranging from 8.5* to 11.5* and the club is offered in a wide variety of shaft flexes to suit your needs. Pre-order the new Cobra S3 Driver from Budget Golf today for a mid-February delivery!
I predict that 2010 will be a huge year for Cobra. Their new lineup is very impressive and they have created a club for just about everyone, from the scratch golfer to the weekend warrior. For the middle of the road player, who wants a little bit more forgiveness, the new Cobra S2 Max Irons will definitely fit the bill. Cobra claims that this new S2 iron is the most forgiving iron set in it’s class. Due to their cast construction the irons have a very soft, yet solid feel at impact. (more…)
